Chapter one
A borrowed kitchen
In 2019 we cooked pop-up dinners in other people’s kitchens, carrying a portable grill and a bag of oak. People kept asking where the restaurant was.
Chapter two
Building the hearth
In 2021 we found a narrow room on a side street and built a brick hearth before we bought a single chair. Everything else was designed around it.
